- Texas oil mogul Algur Hurtle Meadows owned over one million dollars worth of fake paintings bought from a forger named Legros. (Are any of them at the Meadows Museum at SMU?)
- Danny Kaye was one of the original owners of the Seattle Mariners.
- Jazz expert Phil Schaap was Dick's cousin.
- The original sports impostor was Barry Bremen. (And his cute daughter sneaked into a Superbowl party pretending to be Gwyneth Paltrow.)
- John Updike once wrote an essay for Forbes called "Where Is The Space To Chase Rainbows?" Did this inspire Monty Burns' autobiography, "Will There Ever Be A Rainbow?" ?
